How would you describe your role at Avnan?
I like to think my role in supply chain role at Avnan makes me a little like Santa Claus. After months of thinking about the best gifts (designed by the product’s engineers) for loved ones (the customers), of course you want to deliver the right gift (product), in the right quantity, at the right price, at the right time, and to the right place.
To make that happen, we are constantly seeking improvements. For example, do we need faster reindeer? Do we need to get more materials earlier, before the season arrives? Do we need to call more elves for help? There’s much to be done to ensure everything is just right by midnight on Christmas Eve. Then we can slide down the chimney of our loved one’s house and deliver the gift. The next morning, when we see the smile on their face, we can be sure everything we’re doing is worth it.
What is your favourite part of working at Avnan?
My favourite part of working at Avnan is teamwork. Since the supply chain demands that we constantly communicate across departments, teamwork is an important – and favourite – part of my day. No matter how hard the situation we are facing (and there have been many hard situations!), the team works together to come up with a unique and innovative solution – often something I wouldn’t have thought of on my own. It’s like magic! I’m introduced to a new way of thinking, and it’s the most efficient way to learn new skill at work.
What is your favourite way to unwind outside of work?
My favourite activities outside of work are swimming and diving. I am always fascinated by underwater creatures! Swimming beside them is exciting and allows me to appreciate what nature has given us. How wonderful the world is!
What advice would you give someone just starting at Avnan?
For hires who are new to the industry, Avnan is a great place to learn. Everyone here is willing to share their knowledge with those who are eager to learn or share theirs. This is also the place to inspire new ideas and make them happen. Management will always encourage you to express your ideas – and they really mean it. If your idea is really beneficial to the company, they will help you to achieve it. It is great place to start your career and achieve a few milestones along the way.
