Avnan is introducing our new fan coil controller platform, another example of our electronics and application design expertise. Avnan’s fan coil controller platform consists of two key parts: the advanced control board that manages the various functions of the system and the mobile app that provides data insight into its performance, allowing field technicians to help monitor, diagnose and troubleshoot any operational issues with the fan coil system.
Fan coil units (FCU) are crucial components in HVAC systems, designed to regulate indoor temperature efficiently. A unit is basically comprised of a fan and a heat exchanger (coil) to either cool or heat air, ensuring optimal thermal comfort in residential, commercial, and industrial spaces. These systems are widely used due to their energy efficiency, compact design, and ease of integration with centralized or standalone HVAC units.

Functions and Features
Fan coil operation demands precise control of airflow, temperature, and energy consumption, requiring advanced control circuit boards and temperature sensors to enable valve actuation and variable speed operation of the fan motor. Additional capabilities, like automatic fault detection and alerts make these units unique.
Key functions and features of a fan coil control unit:
- Controls EC motors by PWM or analog voltage 0-10V, monitoring their speed
- Controls multi-speed PSC motors
- Works with 2, 3, 4, or 6-pipe systems for heating and cooling using on/off or modulating actuators
- Multi-inputs for various sensors such as: temperature, relative humidity, Indoor Air Quality, water leak, condensation overflow
- RS-485 Communication Port
- Optional opto-isolator module for ECM control
- BACnet for Building Management systems (BMS)
- Compatible with most standard thermostats
- BLE app for troubleshooting

Fan Coil Mobile diagnostics Application
Bluetooth connectivity gives technicians insight into the system and helps to diagnose system problems quickly and efficiently.
Avnan’s BLE app includes troubleshooting guides which can provide real-time data for temperature, fan speed, valve position and system status with current operating mode for technicians to identify and resolve any problem with the system.
Fan Coil Display Demonstration
This controller demonstrates Avnan’s engineering capabilities in designing and implementing a diagnostic system that is embedded in a heat pump control firmware. Through this system, technicians can quickly identify potential failures in the system, but also obtain accurate data that could help the manufacturer improve the design of future projects. The controller is not a stand-alone application, but rather, it is meant to be integrated into your final product.
