Four Questions with Zohar Beneliezer, Program Manager

How would you describe your role at Avnan?

Project management is forever working on the three-legged stool. Each leg represents one of time, cost, or quality. Any change to one element impacts the delicate balance with the other two. Being Avnan’s Program Manager, I am even more keenly aware of the triumvirate of our success; customer, design and manufacturing. I call it the art of science. Our value here at Avnan is converting ideas into product, then delivering it to a yearning receptive market. A hungry sales team finds clients looking for solutions to problems otherwise left unheard and unanswered. A focused core of engineers conceives new and improved designs. A global sourcing team finds and identifies the right manufacturers for the job. A boots-on-the-ground quality team makes sure the entire machine is running as it should. Culminating in a supply chain team second to none, endlessly feeding our voracious customers for whom we are forever grateful. My role is simply to bring that all together. If you don’t know me, I’m doing my job right.

What is your favourite part of working at Avnan?

Our passion is absolutely infectious. Each morning starts with a scrum, more reminiscent of rugby than anything else. I’m honoured to work with an ever-growing group of experienced, dedicated, talented and unified professionals. And it doesn’t stop there. Our customers, manufacturers, contractors, distributors and the rest are our partners. We all work together making this a better world. Where else are you going to find that?

What is your favourite way to unwind outside of work?

So, I’m a nerd. I play games, more specifically, I play board games, No, not Monopoly, not that there is anything wrong with that, but rather games like Gloomhaven or Ultimate Werewolf. My dream is to one day have a game published. Something like “The Cones of Dunshire.” It’s all about the cones.

What advice would you give someone just starting at Avnan?

Bring your A-game, ‘cuz we only hire the best of the best of the best. We know the competition is gunning for us and that’s why we raise the bar every day. Most of all, we’re a team and we have each other’s backs. Look up Sister Sledge’s biggest hit and you’ll know what we are all about.
